St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) welcomed Paulinian delegates from different SPC institutions in Luzon for the celebration of Paulinian Youth in Worship (PYW), a two-day event of the SPC Congregation which commenced this August 9, 2019.

Bearing one of the themes of the Year of the Youth “I am gifted!”, the PYW in its day 1 this August 10 consisted of activities and plenary sessions aligned with the celebration of Paulinian’s charism.

Fr. Fredel Go Agatep, Rector of Basilica of Our Lady of Piat, enlightened the delegates with the relevance of the Emmaus Experience to their walk of faith as gifted Paulinian youths.

“Like the two disciples, we also walk through our own respective life journey. Like them, we have our own worries in life. But the good thing is that Jesus walks with us,” remarked Fr. Agatep

He also highlighted that like the two disciples, Jesus enlightens and inspires people’s hearts which enables them to share the Good News from their personal encounter with Christ.

In the afternoon session, Fr. Kristian Noel Sibbaluca, Parish Priest of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, stressed the importance of sharing one’s gifts by means of talents, time, and treasure in response to God’s unconditional love and the needs of the community.

“You have the means: talents, time, and treasure which are worth sharing with others,” said Fr. Sibbaluca.

A night of worship also summoned all delegates for the praise feast and testimonial sharing of selected religious persons and youths.

Meanwhile, the first day of PYW commenced with the Paulinian Footprints, a retracing of the SPUP History through a procession from SPUP to St. Peter’s Metropolitan Cathedral.
