ENROLMENT PROCEDURE FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

PURPOSE: The procedure concerns the activities involved when interested degree-earning foreign students apply for admission at the St. Paul University Philippines.

SCOPE: This starts with the signifying of intention of foreign students and ends with the issuance of Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR). This excludes foreigners applying for the Doctor of Medicine Program and transferees.

Applicant Applies for Visiting VISA (for non-ASEAN countries), if Student Visa cannot be applied for at the Consular Office in his/her home country
Applicant Sends authenticated documents to IRO Direntor Authenticated documents by the Philippine Consular Office
Director, IRO Informs the Philippine Consular Office (where the student comes from) about the incoming student, needed Letter of Information
Applicant Reports to IRO Director upon arrival at SPUP and submits original copies of the authenticated documents (Red Ribbon documents shall be forwarded to the Registrar’s Office)
Director, IRO Assists student in enrollment Enrollment forms and procedures
Director, IRO and Foreign Student Apply for Student Visa and I-Card Biometric Capturing LOA, Endorsement for Conversion, Copy of Passport Information Page, Latest Arrival Page, Quarantine Stamp Page
Director, IRO Enters data in the database for submission of reports to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Bureau of Immigration (BI) Database of Foreign Students

Enrollment Procedure for Foreign Students applying in the Doctor of Medicine and Transferees

PURPOSE: The procedure concerns the activities involved when interested foreign students apply for admission in the Doctor of Medicine Program and transferees at the St. Paul University Philippines.

ADMISSION PROCEDURES FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS INTO THE DOCTOR OF MEDICINE PROGRAM

PURPOSE: The procedure concerns the activities involved when interested foreign students apply for admission in the Doctor of Medicine Program at the St. Paul University Philippines.

SCOPE: This starts with the evaluation of requirements and ends with the official enrolment of foreign students.

PROCEDURES:

IRO Director Does PRE-ADMISSION of foreign students by evaluating and ensuring the presence of students’ records and reports
  • Valid student Passport and VISA
  • NMAT Score of at least 40 percentile
  • College TOR with Overall BS Mark of at least 83%
  • Diploma
  • Honorable Dismissal
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character or Copy of NBI Clearance
IRO Director Sends qualified foreign students to Dean of the School of Medicine *Not qualified students are immediately advised Transmittal Note (sent by email, prompted by phone call, to ensure that form is authentic and not copied
Dean or College Secretary Re-checks / Verifies Student’s Records
Interviews Student *This is to check student applicants’ oral proficiency in English, logical reasoning and basic knowledge on medicine and medical practice
  • NMAT Score of at least 40 percentile
  • College TOR with Overall BS Mark of at least 83%
  • Diploma
  • Honorable Dismissal
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character or Copy of NBI Clearance
Dean or College Secretary Advises Qualified Students to take the Placement Test at the College Guidance Center *Not qualified students are immediately advised
Student Applicant
  • Gets Form at the College Guidance Center and fills out the same
  • Pays placement exam fee at the BAO
  • Takes exam at the College Guidance Center
  • Application Form
  • Official Receipt of Payment
  • Placement Test
Guidance Head / Counselor Transmits result of placement exam to Dean’s Office Exam Result
SOM Office Assistant Informs student applicants of the placement exam results and advises them of the succeeding procedures. *Not qualified students are immediately advised
Student Applicant Goes through enrolment process Enrollment Procedures
Student Applicant Gives copy of enrolment form to IRO Director for application for CHED Certificate of Eligibility for Admission (CEA) into Medical School and CHED Clearance
