The Health Services Unit (HSU) of SPUP fosters a “Healthy Paulinian Community”. Its role is to maintain a healthy atmosphere, to commit health services, to provide health information, and to present responsive health program.
SPUP Health Services Unit offers both dental and medical services. It provides assessment and assistance relative to the health status and concerns of the students, faculty members, staff and personnel of the University. Aside from the annual health examination, consultation, and daily dispensary treatment, the HSU undertakes prevention of diseases; response to emergencies; prescriptions and referrals; and the promotion of healthy lifestyles to all.
As the primary unit responsible to safeguard the health of every member of the SPUP academic community, the Health Services Unit endeavors the following health aspects:
- PROMOTIVE ASPECT
- PREVENTIVE ASPECT
- MAINTENANCE ASPECT
- REMEDIAL ASPECT
An annual health examination as required for all the students, faculty and staff for the assessment of their health status. Those found with illness are given prescriptions and health advices.
Emergencies in the school are given first aid measures. Students and employees with minor health problems may be given the initial dose of medicine that they need and may be advised to rest. Moreover, monthly updating of the health bulletin aside from the health flyers being distributed to all the offices/units would make students and employees aware or be informed with current health issues.
With prevention and health promotion, health is also maintained. Activities under the promotive and preventive aspects would lead to maintaining the health of the members of the academic community.
These are referrals and follow-ups of some cases that are deemed by the HSU to undergo medical procedure in a hospital.
