February 12, 2019 – The Paulinian, Hotelier, Restaurateur and Tourism Society (PHRTS) spearheaded a seminar on “Current Trends and Innovations in Tourism and Hospitality,” at the Learning Resource Center. Mr. Angel Buan, (Consultant Operator and Co-owner of Butter Cafe and Bakery based in San Dimas, California) served as the resource speaker.

Mr. Buan presented and discussed current trends and innovations in Culinary Sciences specifically the various techniques in operating cafe/restaurant. He explained the necessity of customer-centered approach in delivering quality services and as a response to the demands of the hospitality and tourism industries. He also advised the students to be more responsible and should learn to manage time towards a successful entrepreneurship in the future.

Moreover, in his interaction with the student-participants, he probed them to ask questions from topics presented. With his rich knowledge, skills and experience as a culinary-entrepreneur, he provided students with practical tips on developing new products and concepts applied in the culinary field.

The occasion was also graced by Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) and Dr. Charito Guillermo (Dean, School of Business, Accountancy and Hospitality Management)
