Thirty-six journalists from The Paulinette (Grade School) and thirty-eight from The Pauleen (High School) were trained by Ms. Purita S. Licas, Regional Director of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 2 and Mr. Mark Djeron Tumabao, Regional Editor, PIA-R02 on September 19-20, 2018 at the Junior High School Library, in preparation for the 2018 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).
The school’s representatives for the said event were immersed to both lectures and writeshops in all categories, namely, News Writing, Copyreading and Headline Writing, Feature Writing, Editorial Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Science and Technology Writing, Sports Writing, and Photojournalism.
Since the training is geared towards the incoming DSPC and other journalism- related endeavors, Director Licas expressed her appreciation for the conduct of such event as she said, “It has been a joy to address our young writers’ needs to be trained on the works of journalists”.
