As the Jubilee of Hope is about to be celebrated by the Catholic Church in 2025, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has identified various churches as pilgrimage sites. Releasing the list on November 4, 2024, the CBCP said that these churches will serve as places of pilgrimage for the “special time of spiritual renewal and grace for the universal Church.”
For the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, the SPUP’s Our Lady of Chartres (OLC) Chapel is identified as one of the Pilgrim Churches in the Philippines for the Jubilee 2025 celebration. The designation is particularly for the intentions of educators along the commemoration of International Teachers’ Month in 2025. As the University Chapel, it symbolizes SPUP’s commitment as an educational institution – teaching, service, and the celebration of faith.
The Jubilee Year of 2025 will be officially inaugurated on December 24, 2024, by Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City.
