SPUP STUDENT ORGS HAUL AWARDS IN UNESCO YOUTH ASSEMBLY

Four (4) Paulinian organizations— The Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development (PVCD), The Paulinian Student Government (PSG), Paulinian Student Nurses Organization (PSNO), and The Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development BEU-SHS (PVCD BEU-SHS)—hauled awards and recognitions in the recently concluded International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U) 2024.
With the theme “Empowering Communities through UNESCO Initiatives: Advancing Science and Technology, Culture, Creativity and Lifelong Learning”, the assembly was held at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, from November 29, 2024 to December 1, 2024, and was attended by more than 900 national and foreign delegates.
The opening day of the assembly saw the conferment of certificates of recognition to outstanding UNESCO clubs across various categories, in which PSG was hailed as an Outstanding UNESCO Club – College Level (Education). Consequently, PSNO was also recognized among the Outstanding UNESCO Clubs – College Level (Science and Technology). Meanwhile, PVCD BEU-SHS was proclaimed among the newly accredited clubs.
During the closing ceremony on the third day, PVCD received the Hall of Fame award, which was granted to UNESCO clubs that have been outstanding in their respective categories for four (4) consecutive years.
On the same day, the winners for the academic contests held during Y4U were awarded. Ms. Kay Reago, the PSG Vice President (BSED English 2), was hailed as the Champion in the On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest (College) besting over 60 participants. Further, Edilbert Philip Garcia, (BSN V, PSNO officer), was named as the Best Oral Presenter on Best Practices for Planet for UNESCO clubs.
Moreover, PSG was also awarded as the 2nd Runner Up in the KaPEACEtahan Video Documentation Contest. Additionally, through the collective efforts of Cagayano clubs in attendance, including the SPUP UNESCO clubs, Cagayan clinched the Best Provincial One Town-One Product.
The awards and recognitions received by the Paulinian organizations and delegates reflect their commitment to excellence in various fields, underscoring the spirit of service that continues to define the Paulinian identity.
