SPUP Rolls Out New App to Enhance Tuguegarao City Tricycle Transportation

December 19, 2024 – The launching and turn-over of the Tuguegarao City Tricycle Riders Information Security and Satisfaction Enhancement Application (TC-TRISSEA) marked a significant advancement in local transportation in the City. Held at the SPUP Global Center, Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) welcomed the officers of the Federation of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA), Local Government Officials, Line Agencies Officers, Media Partners and App Developers in the opening program.
The Hon. Maila Ting-Que (Mayor, Tuguegarao City) hailed the app as a breakthrough to the transportation system of the City and a way to improve the transportation services in Tuguegarao City. She thanked and congratulated SPUP and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for the initiative and contribution to the development of the City as a whole. Meanwhile, Dr. Virginia Billera (Regional Director, DOST RO2) commended the app as a collaborative push between government sectors and the academe in fostering sustainable development through science and technology.
Mr. Mariano Cabugos, (Head, Tuguegarao City Tricycle Regulation Unit) formally recieved the TC-TRISSEA icon and signalled the official launch of the app. Also present were the research team that conducted the study. They were Dr. Ma. Visitacion Gumabay (Lead), Dr. Jesus Pizarro and Ms. Sheena Gumarang. The app developers were Mr. Carlos Babaran, Jr., Mr. Rucelj Pugeda, Mr. Angelo Peralta, Mr. Julius Cepeda and Mr. Andrei Amarles.
