St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) demonstrated its commitment to academic innovation and internationalization through its official delegation to the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Global Conference 2026, held from September 23 to 25, 2026, at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) in Germany. The international forum brought together university executives, scholars, and administrators from participating countries including South Korea, Brunei, Indonesia, USA, UK, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Croatia, Bangladesh, UAE, Cambodia, Germany, and the Philippines to benchmark transformative educational models and examine contemporary measures of university impact.
Leading the SPUP delegation, Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, (University President), participated in the executive assemblies of the World Universities Network (WUNI) of Presidents and World Innovation University Association (WIUA) Accreditation and Inspector Training. Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay, (Director, Alumni, External Relations, and Advocacies), delivered a presentation on University Brand and Reputation. His presentation featured SPUP’s institutional case study, Branding through Reputation, Innovation, Digitalization, and Global Engagement (BRIDGE), outlining strategies for strengthening institutional brand equity, advancing digital transformation, and deepening community engagement.
Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales, (Director, Internationalization), advanced SPUP’s global engagement agenda by participating in discussions on institutional rankings, student mobility, and transnational education networks to expand international academic partnerships. Dr. Morales was elected as a member of the Board of Directors for the World Universities Network (WUNI) of Leaders. Completing the delegation, Mrs. Belen Lim, (Head, Employment and Entrepreneurship Center), joined sessions on entrepreneurial spirit, industrial application, and university-based entrepreneurial projects. Mrs. Lim was also elected as a member of the Board of Directors for the World Universities Network (WUNI) of Experts.
These engagements strengthen SPUP’s global presence and commitment to innovation. Through new partnerships and leadership roles, SPUP continues to advance quality, globally responsive education.
