St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Education Centre of Australia (ECA), marking a significant collaboration aimed at launching an innovative Open University project.
Held at ECA’s headquarters in Sydney, Australia on April 22, 2024, the agreement was formalized by the leaders from both institutions. Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President), represented SPUP, while ECA was represented by Mr. Rupesh K. Singh (Chief Executive Officer). The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Fernando Scarmozzino (Vice-President, International Relations and Group Campuses), Mr. Lawrence Pratchett (CEO, Uni-Ready and ASGS) and other officials of ECA.
ECA is a globally recognized for its commitment to quality education, offering a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, English language programs, and professional internships designed to advance students’ careers. Since its inception in 2006, ECA has prioritized academic excellence, integrity, and inclusion, providing international students with transformative educational experiences.
The partnership aims to harness the unique strengths of SPUP and ECA in creating opportunities for accessible, flexible, and quality education through the Open University initiative. It also emphasizes the mutual commitment of both institutions to innovation, inclusivity, and academic excellence, towards a global educational community designed to equip students with the competencies necessary for lifelong learning and development.
After the MOA Signing event, Sr. Merceditas and members of ECA-Philippines conducted a courtesy visit to the Philippine Consulate in Sydney.
