SPUP commemorated the International Day of Peace through the KaPEACEtahan sa SPUP: Jam for Peace, which was spearheaded by The Paulinian Student Government (PSG) in collaboration with the Center for External Relations, Alumni, and Advocacies, Internationalization, the Christian Formation Office, and the Community Development Center.
The Jam for Peace commenced with a drum and lyre performance from the Basic Education Unit (BEU); after which, the opening liturgy facilitated by the CF Office was held, then Mr. Rucelj D. Pugeda (Head, Office of Student Affairs and Adviser, PSG) delivered the rationale.
SPUP’s international students gave a cultural performance, then the Peacetang Paulino followed, with song and dance performances from the different college departments—the School of Business, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management (SBAHM), the School of Arts, Sciences, and Teacher Education (SASTE), the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), and the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (SNAHS).
Upon the event’s conclusion, Paulinians took part in a community dance that reflected SPUP’s shared commitment to fostering peace through celebrating differences and building relationships rooted in respect, empathy, and mutual understanding.
The event was graced by Dr. Serafin Arviola Jr., the Founding Chairman of the National Coordinating Body of Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines (NCBCUP), and Mr. Dante Guittu, Jr., a Board Member of the NCBCUP.
