St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) faculty and students showcased their research in the 2024 Cagayan Valley Regional Health Development Consortium (CVRHDC) Annual Health Research Forum. It served as a platform for researchers, experts, healthcare practitioners, and health professionals to exchange knowledge, foster collaboration, and promote advancements in healthcare research in the Cagayan Valley region. Nursing faculty members and students, representing SPUP, excelled in the various research-related activities of the program.
Dr. Allan Paulo Blaquera RN, (Coordinator, Research and Curriculum Development – SNAHS), secured 1st Place in the 3-Minute Pitch to Policymakers Competition for his study, “Development and Validation of the Nurse-Coordinated Interprofessional Care at Home Environment for Stroke (NICHES) Model.”
Mr. Jose Felipe Pajarilo (Faculty Member, SNAHS), also achieved 1st Place in the Digital Research Poster Presentation (Professional Category) for his research, “Diagnostic Reliability of Mentzer Index for β-Thalassemia Trait: A Systematic Review.”
Along student category, Ms. Ellyza Cortez, (Nursing Student – Level 5), earned 3rd Place in the Oral Research Paper Presentation for her paper titled, “Effectiveness of Remote-Based Weight Management Program in Enhancing Weight and Blood Pressure Outcomes Among Adults with Hypertension.” Moreover, Ms. Diana Nicole Collado, (Nursing Student – Level 5) represented SPUP in the Digital Research Poster Presentation with her study, “Effectiveness of UKMStrokIT Towards Functional Independence Among Patients with Stroke.”
The event was held at the NGN Gran Hotel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan from December 12 to 14, 2024 and was guided by the theme, “Reinforcing the Innovative Future of Healthcare: Building Initiatives on Equity in Health.”
