SPUP’s Graduate School has actively engaged in outreach initiatives, extending educational opportunities and support to various sectors of society. In previous efforts, it has successfully conducted programs for women, school children, and Indigenous Peoples’ groups, fostering learning, empowerment, and community development. This time, the outreach activity focused on senior citizens, particularly, in Barangay Maguirig, Solana, Cagayan, on February 26, 2025.
The activity was led by Dr. Inicia C. Bansig, (Dean Graduate School) supported by faculty members, staff, and the community extension services team. Prioritizing the health and wellbeing of the participants, a zumba session, which saw enthusiastic participation from all attendees, was held during the activity. The well-coordinated activity brought joy to the participants, fostering a sense of community and connection. A gift-giving capped the outreach engagement.
The event was organized in coordination with Barangay Captain Enrico Marallag Jr., barangay councilors, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and other local volunteers. The outreach activity was conducted in an organized manner, ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of the senior citizens throughout the event.
