GLOBAL DISTINCTION IN SUSTAINABILITY: SPUP ANCHORS POSITION IN 2026 THE SUSTAINABILITY IMPACT RATINGS

St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) has once again demonstrated its commitment to sustainable development and global citizenship by securing a place in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, ranking within the 1001–1500 bracket among 1,603 participating institutions worldwide. The prestigious ranking evaluates universities based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting institutions that create meaningful social, economic, and environmental impact.
SPUP participated in 10 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, showcasing the University’s dedication to addressing global challenges through education, research, community engagement, and institutional initiatives. Among its strongest performances were SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, both ranking within the 401–600 range, reflecting SPUP’s sustained efforts in promoting inclusivity, innovation, and equitable opportunities for all stakeholders.
The University also recorded commendable results in SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, all ranking within the 601–800 range. Additional participation in SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals further underscores SPUP’s holistic approach to advancing sustainable development within the local and global community.
This achievement reflects the collective efforts of the SPUP community, administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners, who continue to embody the University’s mission of transforming lives through quality education and service. As SPUP celebrates this international recognition, it remains steadfast in its commitment to creating a positive impact, fostering innovation, and contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive future for all.
