June 27, 2026 — In a major triumph for student-led volunteerism, SPUP’s Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development (PVCD) – Clubs for UNESCO was officially named the Most Outstanding Organization under the “For the People” Category at the 2026 Search for the Ten Outstanding UN SDG Awards (TOUSA) held in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The national accolade, conferred by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN-SDSN), recognized the organization’s exceptional contributions to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its commitment as an accredited body of the UN SDSN Youth Philippines under the Global Youth Program.
Mr. Erwin Joley B. Bello, (PVCD President), accepted the award on behalf of the entire SPUP community. During the screening process, he presented the “SPUP Community Responding to Emergency Situations (C.A.R.E.S.)” program, a flagship disaster-response initiative driven by dedicated student-volunteers and fully supported by the SPUP Administration.
This institutional milestone reflects the unwavering dedication of SPUP volunteers to creating meaningful and sustainable local impact through service, leadership, and structured community engagement. The ongoing implementation of the C.A.R.E.S. program highlights the University’s active advocacy and operational alignment with global sustainability standards.
