On January 6-8, 2024, the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Region II Council conducted the Regional Mid-Year Convention (RMYC) at Isabela State University – Echague. With the theme, “KABILIN: Celebrating Differences Under One Umbrella of Success,” the convention served as an annual gathering of accountancy students in the region wherein local chapters from different schools in the Cagayan Valley Region meet to share best practices in learning, foster networking and engage in academic and service endeavors. Highlight of the convention were the different individual and group contested activities which showcased the abilities of the participants.
SPUP’s active participation in the conference and academic events led the University’s accountancy students to the winning spots: Champion, MAS Quiz Senior Level (Team Category comprised of Mr. Charles Kevin R. Sia, Mr. Allen Kobe S. Pascua and Mr. Christopher Emmanuel L. Bambalan) and 1st Runner-Up, Taxation Quiz Senior Level (Team Category composed of Mr. Charles Kevin R. Sia, Mr. Allen Kobe S. Pascua and Ms. Harlee Nicole Batulan). For the individual category, Mr. Charles Kevin R. Sia was declared Campion in the Sports Quizbee and 1st Runner-Up in the MAS Quiz Senior Level and Mr. Jerwin Paul A. Domingo as 2nd Runner-Up in the RFBT Quiz Senior Level. Dr. Marjorie Bambalan accompanied the student-participants as their adviser and coach.
