SBAHM STUDENTS ENGAGE IN SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM IN JAPAN

TOKUSHIMA, Japan — Four students from the School of Business, Accountancy and Hospitality Management (SBAHM) represented SPUP at the International Summer School 2026: “Get Together in Tokushima, Japan” (ISST), organized by the International Office of Tokushima University, Japan, from July 29 to August 6, 2026.
The International Summer School brought together undergraduate students from Tokushima University’s partner institutions around the world. Participants included students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Croatia, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, and the Philippines, creating a diverse environment for meaningful intercultural learning and friendship. Representing SPUP were Janred Christian Lim (BSBA-3), Joaquin Angelyn Ross (BSMA-3), Kian Bollecer (BSA-2), and John Mark Balasso (BSMA-2).
Designed to promote international exchange among partner universities at the undergraduate level, ISST 2026 provided participants with opportunities to interact with students from different cultural and academic backgrounds while experiencing Japanese culture and university life in Tokushima. Throughout the program, the SPUP delegates joined their fellow international participants in activities that encouraged cross-cultural understanding, communication, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. Their participation also provided an opportunity to build friendships and connections with students from across Asia and Europe.
The international experience allowed the four SBAHM students to broaden their perspectives beyond the classroom and gain a deeper appreciation of cultural diversity. By engaging with Malaysian, Indonesian, Mongolian, Croatian, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, and other international students, the delegates strengthened their intercultural communication skills and developed a greater awareness of their roles as globally minded learners.
Their participation in the International Summer School 2026 reflects SPUP’s continuing commitment to providing students with opportunities for international exposure, academic enrichment, and global engagement. As they represented the University in Tokushima, the four SBAHM students carried with them the spirit of SPUP while contributing to the International Summer School’s goal of bringing young people together through education, cultural exchange, and friendship.
