
BREAKING THE TOP 50: SPUP RISES TO 43RD GLOBALLY IN WURI 2026 INNOVATION RANKINGS

St. Paul University Philippines reached a major milestone in global higher education by ranking 43rd in the WURI 2026 Global Top 500 Universities. This marks a strong rise from the 101–200 bracket in 2021 and 2022, to 81st in 2023, 78th in 2024, 66th in 2025, and 43rd in 2026. The result reflects SPUP’s strong commitment to innovation and socially responsive education.
WURI highlights real-world impact and creative pedagogy. It recognizes universities that go beyond traditional metrics and deliver practical, future-oriented contributions to society. This year, WURI evaluated 1,927 higher education institutions from 96 countries. The ranking was announced on May 7, 2026, during the Hanseatic League of Universities Annual Conference and WURI Global Rankings Ceremony at National Chi-Nan University in Taiwan.
SPUP’s 2026 performance was driven by excellence in management, identity, technology, and inclusion. It ranked 5th in University Brand and Reputation, 6th in Cost-Effective Management, 12th in Student Mobility and Openness, 24th in Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved, 38th in Digital and AI Transformation in Strategy and Management, 47th in AI-Based Teaching and Learning Transformation, and 55th in Culture and Values. These results show SPUP’s strong brand, efficient operations, and commitment to inclusive, future-ready education.
The university also gained recognition in research, sustainability, leadership, and entrepreneurship. SPUP ranked 21st in Financial Impact-Driven Technology Transfer, 34th in Representative Research Projects, 41st in Infrastructure and Technology, 92nd in Funding for Sustainability, 19th in Visionary Leadership, 84th in Future-Oriented Responses to Global Uncertainty and Geopolitical Risk, 70th in University-Based Entrepreneurial Project, and 73rd in Entrepreneurial Culture and Ecosystem. These rankings affirm SPUP’s steady progress as a university committed to innovation, leadership, and social impact.
