SPUP RECEIVES CHED ICONS 2025 DISTINCTION AS A LEADER IN GLOBAL EXCELLENCE, SUSTAINABILITY

December 10, 2025 – St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) has once again affirmed its leadership in Philippine higher education after being honored in the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2025. Held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), the ceremony recognized Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for outstanding performance in global engagement, sustainability, and national development. The awards were presented by Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis (Chairperson, CHED). Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales (Director, Internationalization) represented the University in the awarding ceremonies.
SPUP was cited as a consistent ICONS Awardee for International Ranking, recognizing its strong performance in globally recognized university rankings, including the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, where it placed in the 1001–1500 bracket, and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), where it achieved an impressive global rank of 66. This sustained international visibility underscores the University’s significant contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its commitment to quality, transformative, innovative, and socially responsive education.
This recognition reaffirms that SPUP’s strategic vision for internationalization is generating real and sustainable impact. Its innovative academic programs integrate global standards, ethical leadership, and Pauline core values, forming graduates who are globally competitive and community-oriented. Through these efforts, SPUP continues to serve as a benchmark for globalized, value-driven higher education in the region and the country.
