St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) commemorated the International Day of Peace on September 24, 2025, with the theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World.” The event was spearheaded by the Paulinian Student Government (PSG) in collaboration with CAERA, the Community Development Center, Christian Formation, ICT, PVCD, and several student clubs. It brought together administrators, faculty, and students in a shared commitment to fostering peace and solidarity within the academic community.
The celebration opened with a symbolic “Walk for Peace, Walk for Hope,” followed by a liturgy, inspirational messages, and cultural presentations at the SPUP Student Center. Highlights included reflections from Dr. Teresita Lasam and Dr. Agripina Maribbay on the vital role of Paulinians in promoting harmony, as well as a Unity Dance led by PSG officers that energized the participants and reinforced the spirit of togetherness.
The commemoration also marked the launch of several student-led initiatives aligned with Peace Month. These included PVCD’s Peace-song Puso and PSG projects such as Kalingang Kamay helpdesk, Stories of Hope literacy drive, Peace Promises pledge wall, Pixels of Peace digital contest, and Visions of Peace bulletin displays. Through these activities, SPUP reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing young advocates who live out the values of peace and extend them to their communities and beyond.
