September 25, 2025 — St. Paul University Philippines and Tongmyong University (Republic of Korea) formalized a partnership through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening academic and cultural ties. Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (President, SPUP) and Dr. Sang Chun Lee (President, Tongmyong University) signed the agreement in Busan, South Korea. The MOU outlines a framework for cooperation in areas such as student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, curriculum development, and shared academic programs, with both institutions committing to explore concrete opportunities for collaboration.
University leaders said the MOU will serve as a foundation for long-term engagement, enabling mobility, knowledge-sharing, and capacity-building between the two schools. Specific projects and timelines will be developed by joint working groups, and both parties emphasized their intent to foster mutual understanding and enhance educational outcomes for students in the Philippines and South Korea.
