From September 6–12, 2025, Dr. Editha S. Pagulayan (Program Coordinator, Social Work) and Ms. Grace Aliman (Academic Team Leader, Social Work) represented St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) in the Professional Development Exchange Program. Their activities included a visit to the Bang Lamung Elderly Welfare Development Center, where they engaged with elderly residents and participated in art therapy, cognitive stimulation, and light exercise, and visits to partner Thai universities—Mahamongkut Buddhist University, Prince of Songkhla University, Pibunsongkram Rajabhat University, and Chulalongkorn University—for meetings, campus tours, and exchange discussions.
Their observations and interactions yielded practical insights for social work instruction, field practicum, and curriculum development at SPUP, and Dr. Pagulayan and Ms. Aliman affirmed the university’s commitment to integrating these international best practices to strengthen elder care and culturally responsive social work education.
