GASTPE REGIONAL ORIENTATION 2025 GEARS TOWARDS STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP

St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) hosted the 2025 Regional Orientation for the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Program on July 10, 2025. As the home of the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) Regional Secretariat for Region 02, SPUP welcomed school administrators and educators from across the region to reinforce their understanding of key DepEd programs implemented through PEAC, such as the Education Service Contracting (ESC), Senior High School Voucher Program (SHS VP), and Teachers’ Salary Subsidy (TSS). The gathering highlighted SPUP’s active role in strengthening public-private partnerships for educational development.
The program opened with a prayer led by Dr. Janette Fermin (PEAC RS 02 Regional Program Coordinator), followed by a warm welcome from Sr. Merceditas O. Ang, SPC, (SPUP President and PEAC RS 02 Regional Program Director). Participants were inspired by video messages from national education leaders including Hon. Juan Edgardo M. Angara, (DepEd Secretary); Dr. Betty Cernol-McCann, (ACSCU President); and Mr. Marco Alfredo M. Benitez, (PACU President). The address of Dr. Benjamin D. Paragas, (DepEd Regional Director), emphasized the vital collaboration between public and private education sectors in achieving equitable access to quality learning.
Key updates and technical sessions were delivered by PEAC national representatives: Ms. Denise Adriano on program updates, Ms. Nerissa Camille U. Isleta on certification processes, Mr. Grevered L. Gallego on information security and data privacy, and Mr. Rodrick Edsel B. Malonzo on the processing of ESC, SHS VP, and TSS. The orientation served as a platform to reaffirm PEAC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient implementation of GASTPE programs, empowering private school stakeholders to better support Filipino learners.
