FOREIGN STUDENTS

1.12 Documentary Requirements for Foreign Students seeking Admission at St. Paul University Philippines

    Basic Documents:
  • 1.12.1 Personal History Statement
  • 1.12.2 Birth Certificate
  • 1.12.3 Transcript of Records or School Marks and Diploma of Latest School Attendance (with English Translation as needed)
  • 1.12.4 Proof of English Language Proficiency (Non-speakers or Beginners are advised to arrive early in SPUP and enroll in Basic English Language course/s)
  • 1.12.5 Affidavit of Support and/or Proof of Adequate Financial Support (Certificate of Financial Scholarship for those who are sent by the Government or their schools/institutions)
  • 1.12.6 Medical/Health Certificate stating that the student is healthy and fit to study abroad.
  • 1.12.7 Police Clearance Certificate
  • 1.12.8 Copy of Passport Bio Page
  • *All certificates must bear red ribbon authentication or apostille.

1.13 Additional Requirements for Applicants in the Doctor of Medicine Program

  • 1.13.1 Valid Passport and Student VISA (if completed BS in the Philippines).
  • 1.13.2 NMAT Score of at least 40 percentile.
  • 1.13.3 College TOR with Overall BS mark of at least 83% or its equivalent mark
  • 1.13.4 Diploma
  • 1.13.5 Honorable Dismissal
  • 1.13.6 Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • 1.13.7 Copy of NBI Clearance
  • 1.13.8 CHED Clearance
  • 1.13.9 Certificate of Eligibility for Admission into Medical School (from CHED)
  • *All certificates must bear red ribbon authentication or apostille.

1.14 General Procedures

All arriving foreign students with tourist (9a) visa must apply for visa conversion to student (9f) visa following these procedures:

  1. Upon arrival in the Philippines, the Foreign Student applicant proceeds to a Tertiary Hospital for request of Medical Certificate after the following tests have been taken with NORMAL/NEGATIVE results:
    1. Chest X-Ray
    2. VDRL or Syphilis Test
    3. Microscopic Urinalysis
    4. Microscopic Stool Exam
    5. Yellow Fever/Polio Vaccine (for those coming from Africa)
    6. Malaria Test (for selected countries only)
    7. Drug Test
    8. Other or additional tests as prescribed by the attending Physician.
  2. Once a Medical Certificate has been obtained, the foreign student, with the assistance of the Liaison Officer of the University, applies for VISA Conversion from 9A (Tourist) to 9F (Student) at the Bureau of Immigration – Tuguegarao City.
  3. Once Visa Conversion is approved, the student is requested to proceed to the Bureau of Immigration – Student Visa Section at Civic Building C. Quezon City Hall, Quezon City, Metro Manila for Biometric capturing of photo, signature and fingerprints.
  4. Students, through the University’s Liaison Officer, will be notified of the approval of visa conversion and release of I-Card.
  5. Students apply for Student Visa Extension after ONE year. This is done at the Bureau of Immigration Office in Tuguegarao City – NO more need for medical clearance and biometric capturing, unless required.

Note: All Official Receipts will be given to students.
