The 2023 International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO (Y4U) organized by the National Coordinating Body of Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines (NCBCUP) was held at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel last December 9-11, 2023.  SPUP student leaders and volunteers participated in the said convergence.

With the tradition of recognizing outstanding organizations and leaders in promoting the ideals of UNESCO, the Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development (PVCD) – Clubs for UNESCO was recognized as an Outstanding Club for UNESCO in the Philippines under Culture category for its activities centered on uplifting the quality of life in the Indigenous Communities. Likewise, Mr. Yowelle Ched Sedano (President, PVCD) and Mr. Lester Balicao (Creative Member, PVCD) were honored as Outstanding Youth Leaders of UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines. They were awarded for their efforts and engagements in conducting projects and activities that help in promoting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Moreover, The Paulinian Student Government (PSG) and the Paulinian Student Nurses Organization (PSNO) were awarded their certificate of accreditation as Clubs for UNESCO. The said gathering was attended by over 700 youth leaders from all over the Philippines. Activities included, paper presentation, walking tour, panel discussion on the SDGs, and academic, aesthetic, and literary-musical contests.
