Two teams from BEU Junior High School, TacTeam and Kineticar Squad, were hailed as top 10 finalists in the Ideatech Challenge 2023, held on September 19-20, 2023, in Cauayan City, Isabela.

TacTeam, composed of Aaron Paulo B. Bautista, Jahnrodz Juillet T. Fermin, Gabriel Khyle L. Chua, and Joseff Kyle I. Balubal, received the Most Promising SDG Solutions Award for their project, “TACTILE: Flooring of the Future.” The team developed a method of producing an alternative renewable energy source leading to sustainability as it only uses force that produces energy through walking and running.

Kineticar Squad, composed of Edward Miguel III P. Antonio, Braylle Samuel A. Cadorna, Kanoa Leon T. Garcia, and Terence Vins Gabriel M. Tejada, presented their project, “Electric Kineticar Suspension System E.KI.S.S solves the problem of charging costs by recycling waste energy while driving, and transforming it into usable energy for the vehicle.

Both teams were mentored by Mr. JR Palattao, with the assistance of other teachers, including Ms. Learni Javier, Mr. Edward Magallanes, Dr.Janette Fermin and Mr. Carlo Catabay.

The iDeaTech Challenge 2023 is a pivotal event for DISC-TBI, pioneering a synergistic approach of selecting innovative ideas utilizing Smart City Technologies as well as promoting collaboration among Cagayan Valley Region’s Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that will be an instrument in strengthening Start Up Economy.

The SPUP Junior High School students’ achievement in the Ideatech Challenge is a testament to their creativity, ingenuity, and dedication to solving real-world problems. Their projects have the potential to make a positive impact on society and the environment.
