June 21, 2023 – SPUP’s International Graduate School students held an outreach activity to Indigenous Peoples (IP) community in Agugaddan, Peñablanca, Cagayan. The said activity was voluntarily organized by Chinese Graduate School students from Anshun University, led by Mr. Jiang Tao and Ms. Zhang Qiu (PhD in Education students). The undertaking was also facilitated by SPUP’s Community Development Center (CDC).
The outreach activity was highlighted by an interaction of the international students with the members of the Indigenous Peoples community, particularly the children and the elderly. The leaders of IP community also showed some aspects of their living to the international visitors. In return as an appreciation of a warm welcome, the international students presented gifts to each of the 42 families in the community, while the school children received school supplies.
(Anshun University in China is a partner institution of St. Paul University Philippines. Currently, there are 52 students enrolled in SPUP Graduate School from the said University.)
