SPUP has been selected as a regional hub for Global Citizenship Education (GCED) in the Cagayan Valley region. The designation is in recognition of the University’s continued efforts in advancing and main streaming the goals of Global Citizenship Education in academic designs and services to the community.

The selection served as an attestation of St. Paul University Philippines’ openness and commitment as an active partner of the Philippine Normal University, the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) under the auspices of UNESCO, and the GCED Cooperation Centre Philippines (GCC Philippines) in the promotion and facilitation of Global Citizenship Education programs in the region.

The said collaboration was formalized on October 18-19, 2022 during the official launching of GCC Philippines and the Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between PNU, GCC Philippines, and the 19 Higher Education Institutions designated as GCED Regional Hubs. Dr. Bert J. Tuga (President, Philippine Normal University) and Dr. Serafin A. Arviola, Jr., (Director, GCC Philippines), led the program. Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) was represented by Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay (Director, Alumni, External Relations and Advocacies) in the said endeavor.
