St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) and Changzhuo College of Information Technology (CCIT) pioneered the conduct of a joint lecture on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT) on January 13, 2022. CCIT, the first national model college of information technology in Jiangsu Province in China, and SPUP’s College of Information Technology, a recognized Center of Development in Information Technology in the Philippines, collaborated in the said undertaking.

The joint venture commenced with the welcome messages of Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (President, SPUP) and Dr. Tao Dawei (President, CCIT). These were followed by the lectures of Dr. Jack Yao on “Big Data: The Heart of Metaverse,” Dr. Marifel Grace Kummer on “Impacts of AI in Daily Life,” and Mr. Qian Yinzhong on “PCB Defect Detection from Deep Learning.”

The conference also featured the discussions of Mr. Carlos Babaran, Jr. on “Artificial Intelligence Systems Integration,” and Dr. Jin Xuegang on “Empathy Environment.”

The virtual engagement was held through Zoom platform and was attended by more than 150 participants from the Philippines and China. An open forum, moderated by Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales (Director, Internationalization), ensued after the discussions of the lecturers.
