Students from the Basic Education Unit bagged fifty-eight (58) medals and nineteen (19) plaques in the 6th National Phoenix Aralinks Quest held at the Phoenix Building, Quezon City last January 27-31, 2020. Of the 58 medals, 21 are gold, 27 silver, and 10 are special awards. Garnering the highest average points, the Junior High School and Senior High School teams were hailed over-all champions of the said quest.

In the Quest ShowcACE Invention Challenge, a time-bounded category where students do analyzing, coding, designing, and creating of project proposals or prototypes based on identified community issues and concerns, the BEU students came up with Mini Dirt Picker (Primary Level),Global Crisis Control Game (Intermediate Level), Project RAIGN-Reinforcement using Automatic Integration of Gadgets for Natural Disaster(Junior High School Division), and Project ATHMOS- Automated Temperature and Humidity Monitoring Systemfor Rice Storage in Ensuring Quality Content (Senior High School Division). These inventions garnered the following awards:

In the Quest ShowcACE Student Expo, a category where students create and present project prototypes anchored on the different UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the same teams developed BroomBot/AshBot-a robot that collects ash from volcanic eruptions (Primary Level),Digital Doctor-a robot that recommends immediate cure for common diseases and dispenses over-the-counter medicines (Intermediate Level),Project AGOS– Solar-powered water-distiller (Junior High School), and Project TAMARAWTerrestrial Automated Monitoring and Risk Assessment on Woodlands (Senior High School). These promising projects received the following awards:

Moreover, with the outstanding performance and remarkable presentations of the different teams, two special awards were accorded to them- ACE of Coding (an award given to contestants for demonstrating mastery of coding and physical computing) and Best/Creative Communicator (a special award given to contestants for communicating complex ideas clearly and effectively to a wide variety of audiences).
