Pursuant to SPUP’s internationalization, new partner schools were established in China. SPUP is a member of the China-ASEAN Alliance of Universities. On November 9-17, 2019 Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC together with Sister Lirio Gavan, SPC and Dr. Vince Lou visited partner schools in the cities of Tianjin, Handan, Guangzhou, and Zhangjiang. In Beijing, they were able to visit the Philippine Embassy, the Chinese Ministry of Education, Beijing University, Qinghua University, and the SPUP Beijing office. The travels to different locations were likewise opportunities for benchmarking facilitated by Dr. Vince Lou, Dr. David Xu, Dr. Esther Song, Dr. Faith Ke and her husband.
Agreements for cooperation and partnerships were signed by Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC on behalf of SPUP with the following schools: Handan University, Tian He Guangdong Normal University of Technology, Guangdong Baiyun University, Guangdong Open University, Bai Bu Wan Nursing College, Tianjin Vocational College, Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College, Zhanjiang Preschool Education College, and Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology.
Areas of collaboration include faculty and student exchange programs, research, degree and non-degree programs, immersion, innovations, specialization, adult education, and lifelong learning. Hopefully, the new partner schools will actively pursue the implementation of programs and projects that would benefit the students and teachers.
