Dr. Josephine D. Lorica, a faculty of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (SNAHS) and of the Graduate School, was one of the speakers in the first Sint Carolus International Nursing Science, with the theme, “Evidence-based Practice in Nursing Towards Optimizing Clinical Outcomes in Indonesia” at Lumiere Hotel & Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia on October 4-5, 2019.

The conference aimed to improve the nurses’ knowledge and thinking about the use of evidence-based practice in providing nursing care to patients. Among the speakers were Dr. Rozanno C. Locsin, from Tokushima University, Professor Dr. Emiliana Tjitra, the first woman research professor from the Ministry of Health Indonesia and Dr. Sarah Jane L. Racal, CCHT from Christian University of Thailand.

Included in the conference were the presentation of the following Sint Carolus Faculty who just graduated from their Doctoral Studies: Dr. Fitriana Suprapti, MAN; Dr. Sedia Simbolon, MAN; Dewi Prabawati, DNS; Justina P. Achihayati, DNS; Regina Novità, DNS and Indriati Kusumaningsih, DNS. The conference also included concurrent session for research presentation and a poster presentation.

The event was attended by 100 participants from all over Indonesia and neighboring countries.
