SPUP Graduate School (GS) conducted an orientation to over 2,000 students with its vision, mission, goals, and objectives (VMGO), policies, and services at the Global Center on October 5, 2019.

Dr. Agripina B. Maribbay, (Vice President, Academics) gave the tone-setter through her opening remarks. The inspirational message of Sr. Merceditas O. Ang, SPC (University President) expounded on the theme “Hallmarks of Excellence in Graduate Education in the 21st Century.”

In her talk, Sr. Merceditas underscored research as a key component of graduate education. “You should not be in the graduate school if you have fever when you hear ‘research’,” she said.

Dr. Inicia C. Bansig, (Dean, Graduate School), presented the department’s VMGO and policies, including the different graduate programs offered in the university. Dr. Emolyn M. Iringan, (Asst. Director, Research and Publications), talked about the GS Research Agenda as well as the free services catered by the office.

Meanwhile, Sister Maria Lirio Gavan, SPC (Vice President, Finance), Dr. Ma. Consuelo Manuel, and Dr. Teresita Lasam gave a briefer on canteen, clinic, and guidance services, respectively.

Moreover, Dr. Bansig presented and commended the outgoing Graduate School Student Association (GSSA) officers led by Ms. Jennelyn Elizaga (President).

The program closed with the election of the new set of GSSA officers for academic year 2019-2020.
