St. Paul University Philippines-Community Development Center in partnership with Childfund Philippines granted five (5) child-sized wheelchairs to children with disabilities in the covered barangays in the Municipality of Luna and Flora Apayao on September 18, 2019 through the ChildProTECT Project.

The said mini-project is aimed to assist children to have access to quality early learning opportunities outside their homes through inclusive formal and alternative basic education. Ms. Sharmaine Battulayan, the ENRICH Project Focal together with the MSWD of the Local Government Units of Luna and Flora identified the five physically handicapped children coming from Barangay Sta. Maria, Sta. Lina, Zumigui, and Tumog as recipients of the project.

The objectives of the project include: to help the physically challenged children continue their studies despite of their disability; to lessen the difficulties of the parents in taking their children to and from the school; and prevent the deprivation of these children to their right to education and participation to the community.
