Jester M. Magbanua, a BS Hospitality and Tourism Management student clinched First Place in the recently concluded City Tourism Quiz Bee with the theme “Tourism and jobs: A better future for all”, held at the Sangunniang Panglungsod Session room of Tuguegarao City Hall last September 16, 2019.
This year’s quiz bee aims to create awareness among students regarding tourism and cultural connections and linkages. The activity was participated in by tertiary students from the different Colleges and Universities in the City.
According to Magbanua, he had been competing in different quiz bee competitions since elementary, and to be able to represent St. Paul University Philippines in this kind of event is a dream come true. He also added that he found the questions very hard especially in the difficult round specifically in the current events but managed to emerge as the overall winner.
The City Government of Tuguegarao through the leadership of Mayor Jefferson P. Soriano and the members of the eight-city council sponsored the conduct of quiz bee as part of the World’s Tourism Month Celebration to be held in New Delhi, India on September 27, 2019.
