On August 16-19, 2019, SPUP sent four Physical Therapy students in the 10th Asia Physical Therapy Students Association (APTSA) Congress held in Chang Gung University, Taiwan. The students namely: Ian Denniel Dela Cruz, Romeo Dela Rosa, Thea Angelica Balutoc and Jezreal Jambaro were among the 270 participants from 12-member countries of APTSA, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Pakistan and Australia. They were accompanied by Ms. Jesica E. Calano (Faculty, Physical Therapy).

In celebration of the 10th year founding anniversary of the association, the congress included activities such as: workshop on Finger Surgery Technique; Cultural night; visit to Taiwan’s elderly centers, institutional physical therapy research laboratories and iconic places; plenary sessions; country presentations; and Asian Games.

The congress highlighted learning experiences and opportunities for the students to learn the different treatment approaches, rehabilitation settings, and use of technologies in physiotherapy services of the participating countries for the elderly population.
