SPUP concluded its academic year, 2018-2019 through the celebration of its 77th Commencement Exercises on June 22, 2019.

The Baccalaureate Mass was presided by Rev. Fr. Benjamin Lasam (Parish Priest and Rector, Sto. Niño Shrine and Parish) at the Our Lady of Chartres Chapel. As the Eucharistic Celebration incorporated the solemn Rite of Mission Sending, the graduates prayed for their Missionary Promises as the congregation imparted their blessings on them.

The Graduation Rites (Solemn Investiture and Conferment of Titles and Degrees) were held at the Cagayan Coliseum. The graduation was highlighted by the Commencement Address of the Guest of Honor, Atty. Alfonso Reyno, Jr., who expounded the theme: “Making a Difference Globally.” He was also conferred the degree, Doctor of Humanities Honoris Causa.

Rev. Fr. Macario Malano, Jr. (MA in Education, with Distinction Award) led the Invocation. Ms. Jamaica Michelle Foronda (Bachelor in Secondary Education, Cum Laude) read the address of petition followed by the presentation of the graduates by Dr. Agripina Maribbay (VP Academics). Subsequently, Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) conferred on the graduates the titles and degrees of their respective courses and programs. Ms. Shania Myca Salas (BS Psychology, Magna Cum Laude) expressed the gratitude of the graduates through her valedictory address. Dr. Malen Daquioag (Doctor in Business Management, Loyalty Awardee), led the graduates to their Pledge of Loyalty, while, Mr. Miguel Lim (President, SPUPAA) inducted them to the Alumni Association.

The June 2019 graduation also featured the pioneer-graduates of SPUP Special Programs. 23 Municipal Mayors, Municipal Health Officers and Public Health Nurses (from 10 Municipalities in Region 2) received their Certificate in Municipal Leadership and Governance. The said program is spearheaded by Zuellig Family Foundation and the Department of Health (DOH), with SPUP as their academic partner. Moreover, 31 graduates received their Diploma in Global Teacher Education, a scholarship grant from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

A total of 1, 045 graduates (composed of Filipino and International students) marched in celebration of their success. 13 Honor Graduates, 10 Academic Distinction Awardees and 15 Loyalty Awardees were recognized. Also honored were the National Topnotchers in the June 2019 Nurse Licensure Examination namely: Mr. Geevee Ventula (Top 3), Ms. Lea Marie Serador (Top 7) and Mr. Airon Vince Calica (Top 10) and SPUP as Top 4 Performing School in the Philippines in the March 2019 Pharmacy Licensure Examination.

The graduation ceremonies were graced by the parents and relatives of the graduates, the family of Atty. Reyno, Dr. Julieta Paras (Director, Commission on Higher Education), Dr. Nerisa Canguilan (Director, Civil Service Commission), Dr. Rodrigo Bulaqui (Director, Professional Regulations Commission), Mr. Allan Sibal and Team (HLGP Coordinator, Department of Health), and SPC Sisters from Perpetual Succor Hospital (Cebu City) and St. Paul Hospital (Tuguegarao City).
