SITE HIGHLIGHTS 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION IN CYBER SUMMIT 2019

The School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) spearheaded the 2019 Regional Cyber Summit (CS) on April 10-12 2019 at SPUP’s Sacred Heart of Jesus Training Center (Global Center). Participated in by information technology and engineering students, teachers, professionals and practitioners, the summit was guided by theme “Explore, Exchange & Experience the Unique Realm of Innovative Engineering & Applied Computing in the 4th Industrial Revolution”.

Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) welcomed the guests and participants in the opening program. It was followed by the keynote address of Dr. Julieta M. Paras, CESE, (Director IV, Commission on Higher Education Region 2) where she specified the impact and challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution not only to information technology and engineering sciences but to education as well.

After the preliminary program, plenary sessions, concurrent sessions and open forum were held with the following roster of speakers: Mr. John Atienza, (Training Director of RSA Automation & Robotics) on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Cyber Crime Law; Ms. Victoria Pattaguan and Engr. Kimberlei May Laluan on E-Waste Management; Engr. Jove Revocal, (Engineer II-DPWH-RO2) on Highway Engineering; Mr. Francis Al Victoriano, (Chief Technical Officer, 8Layer Technologies) on Blockchain Technology; Engr. Edison D. Anagaran, (Technical Head of EarthNav Trading Corp.) on Earth Navigation; Mr. John Reynold A. Cauilan (CEO of EngagePH) on Machine Learning; Mr. Argieson Bacani (Web Developer) on Hybrid Programming; Engr. Agosto D. Frace (Faculty, University of St. Louis Tuguegarao) on Structural Analysis and Design Software Application; and, Engr. Philip A. Tamayao, (Local Government Operations Officer 2) on Innovative Engineering and Applied Computing.

The summit also included various skills competitions like Infographics and Infomercial for information technology students and Structure and Bridge Building for engineering students. Acknowledgement, awarding ceremonies and thanksgiving concluded the Cyber Summit 2019.
