With the theme: “Making a Difference Globally,” SPUP’s 14th Mid-Year Commencement Exercises was celebrated on January 26, 2019.

Rev. Msgr. Gerard Ariston Perez (Vicar General, Archdiocese of Tuguegarao) presided the Baccalaureate Mass and preached to the graduates “three tips for life:” – Trusting in Jesus; Believing in God’s plan; and, Focusing on Jesus. The Eucharistic Celebration incorporated the solemn Rite of Mission Sending. With their Paulinian education, the graduates are sent to be communicators of faith, hope and love. Moreover, the graduates prayed for their Missionary Promises as the congregation imparted their blessings on them.

The Graduation Ceremonies at the University Gymnasium was highlighted by the Commencement Address of the Guest of Honor, Dr. Enrique Tayag, PHSAE, FPSMID, CESO III (Director IV, DOH – Information Technology Service). He encouraged the graduates to be always grateful in whatever endeavor they are to undertake. He also lauded SPUP for its pioneering educational initiatives and efforts in transforming students to become globally competitive.

In the Graduation Rites, Mr. Harley Dave Revadona (Master of Science in Teaching) led the Graduates’ Prayer. Ms. Maria Cristina Bangat (BS Nursing, Cum Laude) read the address of petition followed by the presentation of the graduates by Dr. Agripina Maribbay (VP Academics). Subsequently, Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) conferred on the graduates the titles and degrees of their respective courses and programs. Mr. Airon Vince Calica (BS Nursing, Cum Laude) expressed the gratitude of the graduates through hi valedictory address. Ms. Kyle Xyza Batulan, (BS Medical Technology) a Loyalty Awardee, led the graduates in their Pledge of Loyalty, while, Mr. Miguel Lim, (President, SPUPAA) inducted them to the Alumni Association.

Dr. Julieta Paras (Regional Director, Commission on Higher Education), Dr. Nerissa Canguilan (Regional Director, Civil Service Commission) and Dr. Arnel Melad (Representative, Professional Regulation Commission) also graced the celebration.
