January 16-17, 2019 – SITE alumnus and technopreneur, Mr. John Reynold Cauilan conducted a two-day seminar on emerging mobile technologies. His topics include: AI Machine Learning in Browser using Advanced Javascript and Building Mobile Application using Ionic on Android & iOS. The seminar was attended by BSIT fourth year students and was held at the SPUP- LR computer laboratories.

Mr. Cauilan is the CEO of EngagePH – a Tech Start-up company based in Makati. One of the highlights of his talk is the mobile face recognition authentication which gives app users an extra layer of security in accessing their information. The said technology is highly beneficial because of its greater accuracy. He also shared his expertise in building cross-platform mobile apps which are in demand in the IT industries worldwide. He ended the event by giving tips on how to become a successful developer and also gave the students a heads-up on what awaits them in the tech-world. “Information technology is a progressive industry that’s why you should never stop learning and always keep your knowledge up-to-date”, he added.

Through the activity, the School of Information Technology & Engineering continues to fulfill one of its advocacies in bringing home alumni to create an avenue through which students can learn latest technological innovations and create opportunities for their future.
