St. Paul University Philippines climbed to rank 78 (from 81 in 2023) in the Global Top 300 Innovative Universities through the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2024. This year’s ranking was participated in by 1072 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) around the world. The announcement was made at the conclusion of the Hybrid WURI Conference 2024, held via zoom and face-to-face at Franklin University Switzerland on June 7, 2024.

Moreover, in the different ranking categories, SPUP earned the following: Rank 9 on Support for Global Resilience; Rank 16 on Student Support and Engagement; and Rank 22 on Leadership.

WURI evaluates and ranks top universities with real contributions to the society, highlighting creative and innovative approaches on research and educational programs. The inclusion of SPUP, as an Innovative University, demonstrates its capacity to foster educational services anchored on innovativeness (content and process), implementability (doability, cost, and benefit) and impact (scope and intensity).

The WURI 2024 is organized by the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) and sponsored by four global institutions, namely: the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU), the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Taylor Institute (TI) of Franklin University Switzerland (FUS), and The Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS).
