December 18, 2023 – SPUP endeavored the celebration of its annual Paskuhan with its partner-communities. SPUP’s academic units organized fun-filled activities in the delight of the members of the community. SPC Sisters, Administrators, Faculty members, students and alumni of the School of Arts, Sciences and Teacher Education (SASTE) and School of Medicine (SOM) joined forces in “bringing joy” to the Indigenous Peoples’ Community in Aguggaddan, Penablanca, Cagayan.

The Christmas celebration with the members of the communities of Magogod (Amulung, Cagayan), Namabbalan Sur (Tuguegarao City, Cagayan), Roma Sur (Enrile, Cagayan) in SPUP was spearhead by the Parents’ Council and some Alumni of the Basic Education Unit (BEU).  They conducted gift-giving and medical-dental mission with the assistance of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (SNAHS).

The School of Business, Accountancy and Hospitality Management (SBAHM) celebrated with the people of Barangay Maguirig, Solana, Cagayan; while the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) with Barangay Malacabibi, Solana, Cagayan. Both academic units conducted gift-giving, shared the blessings of an agape, and played games with the members of each community.

The last leg of the Paskuhan caravan was with the youth-residents of the Cagayan Valley Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (CVRRCY). With the partnership of the University with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), BS Psychology and BS Social Work students are deployed at CVRRCY for their work immersion program and service-learning activities. SPC Sisters, University Administrators, Faculty Members, Guidance Counsellors, Staff, and Students engaged in fun-filled and celebratory activities such gift-giving, parlor games, and group dynamics.
