The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) of Isabela conferred the Immunization Champion Award to Mr. Sherwin T. Pazzibugan (Faculty from College of Nursing) during the Healthy Pilipinas, Healthy Isabela Awards 2023 at The Maximillian Hotel, Cauayan City, Isabela on December 13, 2023.
The award is accorded to Mr. Pazzibugan for his creativity, initiative, and support in ensuring the protecion of children against vaccine-preventable diseases through Project BaK2Bak: Balik-Kumpyansa sa Bakuna.
Project BaK2bak was the first youth-led initiative in Tumauini aimed to address immunization gaps by empowering barangay health workers (BHW’s) and parents in Barangay District 3 of the said municipality. The project was considered by the Department of Health (DOH) – Cagayan Valley and UNICEF Philippines as one of the best practices in the implementation of the National Immunization Program (NIP) in the region.
