Bannering the theme “One Family under God: Vision for National Transformation and Civilization of Peace,” the Global Peace Convention 2023 was held at the Marriott Hotel Manila (Grand Ballroom) on December 13, 2023. The said conference engaged civil society and government leaders, peacebuilding practitioners, educators, and development experts from around the world in sharing best practices while developing collaborative multi-sector partnerships for the promotion of sustainable peace and development.

Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President, St. Paul University Philippines) joined the roster of speakers and shared SPUP’s engagement and advocacy in advancing values-based and collaborative approaches to global peace and development. Accordingly, “we can nurture peace and unity, as we embrace diversity, interculturality, inclusivity, interfaith and most importantly, caring for the welfare of people.”

Resource persons from diverse backgrounds who shared their expertise and wealth of wisdom were Ambassador Dino Djal (Founder, Foreign Policy Community, Indonesia), Bishop Sunday Onuoha (President, Vision Africa), Honorable Vinicio Cerezo (Former President, Guatemala) and Dr. Hyun Jin Moon (Chairman, Global Peace Foundation) Their discussions highlighted the call to work together to create innovative and practical solutions to promote peace, strengthen families, and engage both local and global community in building a world of one family under God.

More than a thousand attendees coming from different countries all over the world participated in this year’s Global Peace Convention. It was also streamed live in the GPF’s social media platforms.
