December 20, 2018 – The SPUP Community Development Center Foundation, Inc (CDCFI) working with ChildFund Philippines awarded the Klinik in-a-box and Klasrum in-a-box Projects to the barangays of the municipalities of Luna and Flora, both in the province of Apayao. The turn-over ceremonies was held at the Mo. Madeleine Hall and was led by Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) and Mrs. Noemi Cabaddu (Director, Community Extension Services). SPC Sisters, Lay Administrators and Board Members of SPUPCDCFI witnessed the event.

The said endeavor was along the programs on Early Childhood Development for Indigenous Peoples and the Recovery Efforts to the victims of Typhoon Mangkhut (Ompong) supported by ChildFund Korea and ChlidFund New Zealand respectively.

Representatives from the Barangays of Mallig, Upper Atok and Balasi (in Flora, Apayao) and the Barangays of Calayucay, Calabigan and Cagandungan (in Luna, Apayao) received their Klinik in-a-box for their respective Barangay Health Centers. The Klasrum in-a-box was awarded to the representatives from the municipality of Flora for the Elementary Schools of Sta. Maria and Bagutong, and to the Child Development Centers of Malayugan, Sta. Maria, San Jose and Bagutong. For the town of Luna, the recipients were the Child Development Centers in Marag, Sta. Lina, Salvacion and Calayucay.

Ms. Revelyn Aguinaldo (Child Development Worker), Ms. Digna Columna (Midwife), Mr. Herizon Manuel, Jr. (Volunteer), Ms. Renelyn Tugade (Head Teacher, Upper Atok) and Hon. Leonora Udippa (Barangay Captain, Marag) expressed their sincere gratitude to SPUP and ChildFund for the said projects.
