SPUP facilitated a two-day training for SPUP faculty and staff on the use of the NVIO software with Dr. Nicamil K. Sanchez, CEO of the Philippine Consortium for Social Welfare and Human Development, Inc. held on February 7-8, 2018 at the LR 103 Multimedia and Programming Lab.
The university’s research experts were invited to partake in the workshop where Dr. Sanchez demonstrated the basics of NVIvo and interacted with the participants as he assisted each during the hands-on workshop. He also discussed relevant methodologies and philosophies of qualitative research necessary to further reinforce the participants’ understanding of the software.
With the aim to further improve research in the university, the Research and Publications Office keeps up to date necessary tools such as Grammarly, TurnitIn and NVivo- the most recent purchase. The software is intended for qualitative research and to increase efficiency to organize and analyze data and sources.
The program concluded with thanksgiving and acknowledgement of the speaker and the participants.
