Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661, which declared the month of November of every year as National Children’s Month (NCM), the Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development (PVCD-UNESCO) Club and the Junior Social Work Association of the Philippines (JSWAP) of SPUP spearheaded service-learning activities to SPUP’s partner communities.
The said student-organizations conducted information drive along with the theme: “BATA: Iligtas sa Droga.” The culminating activities, on November 28-29, 2017, focused on personal hygiene education, feeding program and gift-giving to daycare and kindergarten pupils in Magalalag, Enrile, Cagayan.
The activities commemorated the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989, and sought to instil its significance in the Filipino consciousness.
