Dubbed as “TechFusion: Global Project Management for EdTEch Revolution”, the Cooperative Online International Learning (COIL) between St. Paul University Philippines and Hayek Global College, Brazil concluded on June 25, 2025, with presentation of students’ project.
The one-month program was facilitated by Mr. Surajit Lahiri imparting in the students several inputs on the project’s development and management vis-à-vis online cultural exchange. This led to the students’ output titled “Equal Learn: Learning for All. No Barriers.” This is an online literature kit for grade school pupils featuring various Philippine folklore translated from Filipino into several languages such as English and Portuguese as well as in local languages like Ilocano, Itawes and Ibanag. Aside from the videos which were translated, recorded and video-animated by the students themselves, the project aims to highlight values and life lessons common in both the Philippines and Brazil.
Coming from various programs of study such as teacher education, humanities and literature, business and accountancy, information technology and computer engineering, the student-participants ventured on this project dividing the task into content team, business team and IT team, each coming up with a project plan and putting them together for one project. The output is a web-based learning kit which can be subscribed by the users. On the cultural aspect, the development of the final output led to the students from the Philippines and Brazil to mingle with one another on and off sessions. Hence, they got to know one another’s culture, economics, traditional music and dance, food and many others.
The final output presentation was graced by administrators, faculty and staff from SPUP led by Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC and from HGC led by Ms. Hanna Haemer.
