Three Third-year Bachelor in Elementary Education students (Ms. Lichelle P. Mallillin, Ms. Erallene B. Apanto, and Ms. Eula D. Macapia ) represented the Philippines in the “Naresuan University Cultural Exchange Program in Thailand” (NU CEPT) held in Phitsanulok, Thailand, from February 9 to 22, 2025.
They were among 27 students from five countries: Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Pakistan, and the Philippines who participated in the program. The exchange provided them with an enriching experience as they immersed themselves in Thai culture through Thai language lessons, Thai sports, traditional Thai medicine and therapy, and insights into various Thai traditions. They also explored Thai cuisine, traditional music, and dance, gaining a deeper appreciation for Thailand’s rich heritage.
Beyond learning about Thai culture, the Paulinians also proudly showcased Filipino culture, history, practices, and traditions. They engaged participants through a fun and interactive presentation using the format of the popular quiz game “Game Ka Na Ba?”, allowing students from different countries to learn about the Philippines in an exciting way. In addition to cultural activities, the participants also visited historical temples and landmarks in Phitsanulok and Sukhothai, experiencing firsthand the historical and spiritual significance of Thailand.
Their participation in this program reflects the Paulinian commitment to lifelong learning, cultural appreciation, and global engagement. As future educators, they will bring these experiences into their classrooms, inspiring their students to embrace diversity, appreciate different cultures, and develop a passion for learning beyond borders.
