October 25, 2023 – As an integral part of SPUP’s transformative education, the University fosters avenues in promoting advocacies and engaging the members of the academic community towards global peace. In its cause for peace, SPUP always endeavor to celebrate the annual International Day of Peace through peace walk, tree-growing activities, ecumenical services, art exhibitions and competitions, signing of peace covenant, and jam for peace. This year, SPUP initiated an activity that calls for “conversion to peace” – the SPUP Rally for Peace. Spearheaded by the Paulinian Student Government, Christian Formation Office, and the Advocacies Office, the undertaking serves as an appeal for world peace and for peaceful barangay election in our country through prayer.
The program began with a silent walk for peace which signified SPUP’s prayerful intention for those who are suffering for the sake of peace and justice. The light for peace, symbolized SPUP’s prayerful commitment to endeavor its educational services in the promotion peace to the world. The prayer service served as SPUP’s call to everyone to actively promote and work for peace. In a special way, a prayer intention is also offered for a peaceful conduct of 2023 Barangay Elections in the Philippines.
SPUP’s rally for peace was participated in by SPC Sisters, local and foreign students, employees, and some parents.
